A variety of in vivo experimental models are available at Accelera to support oncology discovery programs, including a focused panel of xenograft as well as target-driven specific models. Long-standing experience in the field provides an extensive database on the preclinical profile of most currently used therapies as well as of experimental compounds.

1) Screening
An appropriate experimental model for the rapid screening of experimental compounds is selected. The model is chosen according to the target, to demonstrate efficacy related to target modulation, along side pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) properties.

2) Lead selection
Expansion of efficacy profile of selected compounds and scheduling optimization

3) Lead characterization
A set of spontaneous tumours and disease oriented specific models is utilized, to help identify possible clinical indications, biomarker evaluation and comparison to standard therapies.
